owie-ouch BlackCloud. It sounds like you are truly discovering the meaning of "When it rains, it pours". Good luck & hope your back feels better soon. I can so empathize with a messed up back.

Eva you're more akin to me than I thought. Steph has had 3 prolapsed discs since she was 18, a mere spring chicken and as we were married when she was 19 I know all the pains and worries you're going through.
It's not any fun at all.
But I am thinking I know you a little already and I know you're going to attempt some of this martial arts stuff.
And why not! Under the situation you find yourself in all i can say is, and I mean no offence, you're going to have to get on with it. Someone like you has the positiveness to conquer anything. Maintain that attitude and the pain passes into insignificance.
Love VG (Paul) get a vibrating Wii board and laugh. You know you can. Big hugs.

And when you go to the grocery store, pick up a poinsettia and a table top Christmas tree. Really, they'll help put you in the spirit. When Pinya was born, I was very weak, and then my husband came down with pneumonia. I didn't think we were going to be well enough to have a tree that year, so I picked up this chubby little Italian tree, about 3" tall, at the store - in the veg department, no less! I put it on an upside down pot with a white cloth draped over it, and put the gifts our family sent around the pot. It was very festive!

The tree wasn't doing very well after Christmas, so I planted it in the back yard. I thought, well, it will probably die here in the Texas terrain, but no faster than it will indoors. The last time I saw it, it was about 20 feet tall!

Poor Black Cloud! May all your woes turn out to be less than they seem. Amen!

I could go crazy: I wrote a loooong answer to all your lovely words and hugs, and as I hit the send-botton, it told me, that I'm not logged in! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Damn*d, I HAD logged in, and I wrote a looong post and now it's all gone! Shame!

pukkie, Kat, Paul, Cool, Alex, I thank you so much for your friendship. You make me feel to be accompanied by really good friends.
Well it turned out, my lumbar vertebrae are used up, and around it is a articular ossification, that makes the foramen, where the nerves go through, very tight and so there is a constant inflammation.
In addition to that I have now serious sciatica pangs. So the only move, that is possible for me to do, is following "our guy" crossing the tv screen (unfortunately not in person:-)) (But maybe my pangs would go away then ?^^)

Cool, when I'm able to leave the house (sp?), I'll buy a poinsettia, I do love them.

Paul, yes I'm going to attempt martial arts. these days I'm able to start with looking grimly! :-D
And when (not IF) we meet at the next con, we can share the board (the vibratin one) (and let Stephy at home, housesitting^^ VVVBEG)

Astrid (und Alex), the TROST for medical reasons has arrived. I'm going to enjoy it immediately.

Kat, in my case this moment it's not only pouring, it's raining cats and dogs:-) I'm sure, it's going well.
My sorrows are with my boy. I can't be with him at Thursday, and I'm sad about it. I don't have a car and can't go at this small village, where the hospital is. But this Saturday my daughter come from Nürnberg and we can go visit my boy Timmi. I look forward to it. Please send good energies to him!

So for now, I have to bring my precious a.. äh back back to my bed!

thank you all for being my friends! Big hugs to you!
Love, Eva

When I hit the botton this time, it brought the same message again. BUT I had copied my post before and now - I DODODODO hope - it will finally come to the board!!

Sometimes copying or typing long answers into another window, e-mail - what-have-you, is a VERY good idea. Lot's of good vibes to your son & you. I had a bit of the lumbar problem around my nerve cluster 10 years back... Oh I so feel for you right now! I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Fortunately, surgery fixed it mostly. You take it easy and don't forget the moist heat!

Will they want to enlarge the opening and then fuse your bones, do you think?

Best of luck to Timmi!

I don't know yet, Cool.
I try to avoid the surgery as long as I can; yesterday I had a treatment it's called "Manuelle Therapie", I know it from a friend, who kinda inventet it (or adaptet it in her way). I came home and with took a moist heat on my back and layed on the couch. Today it hurts like he.., but it is the first reaction on the treatment, I know.
Well, we'll see, how it works.
With my Timmi, the surgery will be on monday. I doubt that all that is possible has been tried, but he is so tired of the pain, he doesn't want to wait any longer. As he has many problems with his ability, to concentrate on a conversation very much and to know, what has been said in it, I don't really know, what the doctor had told to him.
I tried to find out, but the nurses blocked and wouldn't tell me. Sh..!
So, I can only hope, it will bring him a better health and no more pain (but anyway I'm always against surgeries as long as it possible to avoid them).
Reading all this, I doubt it's in any way understandable, what I've written, but I know, you are geniuses enough, to understand!!
Have a good day, my friends!
