Uhura.jpg

Captain I'm getting a message from the planet Mongo! Should I patch it through

spock.jpg

I'd advise against it Captain, it seems to be coming from a low budget production made even before we were.

Uhura.jpg

This Ming character sounds very angry about a couple of immortal trouble makers, ones a Mac something!

macoy.jpg

Any relation of yours Bones?

But Jim don't you remember the time when you and Spock ear, ---------- sorry here,--------- were jailed for topless bathing on the planet Nonipples, just the other side of the Erogenous Zone? You had a guy called Macleod in the next cell!

Yeh it's all coming back to me, the day before I was reading the manual on the Star Fleet's latest Tardis

tardis.jpg

And Spock suggested a visit to the beach. There was this sign that read "ALL ASSES MUST BE SHOWN" so we did and when the law came we asked where the beach manager was. Too late we were cuffed. It turned out the manager had gone for a "P"

spock.jpg

A logical mistake on our behalf captain! And that Macleod! Such personal questions!

macbars.jpg

Take no notice captain he just wants to know where you got your chest waxed!

macoy.jpg

You're right Bones! A strange man with a very funny accent!

scottie.jpg

Aye Captain------nothing like a Scotsman if you ask me, tho' he did like my warp drive! I offered him a photon torpedo and he said he took his medicine orally

macoy.jpg

OK Uhura, tell them we're boldly going somewhere else today. ------- Hold on maybe the Klingons would like to get involved!

Uhura.jpg

Just getting a reply captain.

clinton.jpg

spock.jpg

Logical mistake I suppose, but don't do it again. You'll have the captain pulling his hair out.

Uhura.jpg

Fat chance he's in with the Tribbles again!

That's another DVD we have upstairs some where Evenstar, Just don't you lot go opening those beans!

Thing is I've a mental block on that Africa thing I'm trying to write, then there was the threat of redundancies to motor through, kid problems of major proportions etc etc etc. Now these pale into insignificance to the problems other people have, I appreciate that.

So the object of the above is simple, if you can bring the smallest ray of sunshine into the doom and gloom of the current situation then why not!

Having met AP on a couple of occassions I know he has a sense of humor. I also believe one of the questions Merrick asks of new members is "have you a sense of humor" I don't believe any one person has said NO!

Take APUK as you find us, serious in places and funny in others.

UK humor allows freedom of expression. If you ever go to a comedy club over here, never go to the lavatory during an act. Believe me you'd be the laugh of the night. And as you said, nothing is sacred.

Back in the 60's the first really cutting edge comedy was released on the unsuspecting UK public, "That was the week that was!" The good news was it was on a saturday night so I got to stay up and watch it on the old black and white TV. The programme was full of subtle mirth and very heavy on satire. Satire is something the Brits do well at. I would have been about 12 when it first aired and I didn't understand what all of it was about, but I learnt. These were live programmes, no canned laughter, and very dangerous as far as language was concerned.

The UK was later treated to imported American programmes such as Rowan and Martin's Laugh In, Green Acres, The Addams Family etc. The laughter was applied after the shooting in most cases, leaving nothing to the imagination whereas UK sit coms were filmed in front of a live audience so if they didn't laugh it wasn't funny!

In light of this the pictures above are staged and the laughter, if there is any, is all that you provide, it's your imagination, and dirty minds, that colour the script. And add too it in many cases.

I thought this was really funny. Some of you won't.
There is the difficulty of getting the balance right so that everyone sees something to laugh at. That's the tricky bit.

On a final note I watched most of The Source whilst finding various pictures on the net, but I watched it at one eight speed and no sound. Yep I know the films been slated in certain quarters but if you watch the fight scenes in slow motion you may appreciate exactly what the producers were about. If you have the technology try it.

Oh and you know the scene at the end when the planets finally allign well look at that bit again. One minute Thekla's hair is blowing in the breeze and the next it's braided.

So was it the planetary alignment or the thought of spending the rest of her life with Macleod that made her hair curl? Think on this! You may never need to go to the hair dressers ever again!

Loved it, VG! That made me LOL and not just grin. While you were watching TWTWTW, I was watch Star Trek!

Wasn't TWTWTW the inspiration for the Smothers Brothers & Laugh In? I'm sorry to have missed it.

We talked about that over on HLbb after AP had said that the fights were all filmed real time and that he wanted to keep them that way. He's damned fast without artifice, and I've wanted to see it. But my computer equipment can't even run regular video, let alone do anything clever with it; I have to borrow a machine to see anything that moves. Don't suppose you could put some of it on YouTube?

Sorry Cool I've burnt the You Tube connection for good. So many hours of work lost due to nimby's and their copyright. Of course they were right! But no one can see work like this as a means of advertising. Still I'll see what I can do though don't hold your breath. It's not easy stretching film out without it looking glitchy, I've tried before. Oh and we've not finished this thing yet. Mr Mountebank is writing the big finish as we speak. I think there are two more episodes to go, maybe three.

Oh and the fight scenes are poetic when you watch in slow mo. IMO! sorry almost forgot that bit.
You also "get" the last lesson Macleod learnt from the Guardian in slow mo as the film flashes last that much longer. We have both the Russian and US versions. One day I'll have to get the two laptops together and sink em! But then what's done is done.

Well I put some on here but only a couple. Can't remember how to do it LOL. If you like a little fighting and the Doors the second one down on the right is good. Never made it to Youtube! And although the clips are of a better quality they don't com up to big.

I've seen that movie! Yes, a very good fight scene. I recognized it before I saw the name. The Doors goes without saying.

Well Cool you rip the DVD you copy and paste it into some programme and you run edit at half speed, one third speed and so on and so on. Trouble is the movie clip becomes so jumpy and the bad editing really shows it up.

Conclusion.

You would have to play the movie on some program like Nero and run it slow to not lose definition.

Due to a technical hitch both Ozzie and the other one have left the cast. They found something far less important to do.

Not detered by the pitfalls our two interpid travellers board a plane to make it to their final destination.

catalina.jpg

Be damned if the Kurgan ain't driving this thing Methos Can you see the landing strip!

mini2.gif

Yeah I can just spot it over on the left, But wait! You remember the planetary wobble? It's happening again!

mini 1.gif

Must be from the cutting room floor, there was miles of the stuff

car3.jpg

Maybe they're digitally remastering it!

blow-on-them.jpg

What's there to remaster? Must have been Highlander 4!

The plane lands safely and at the airport they are met by the Bishop.

Evening each and welcome to your final destination, I'm the Right Reverend Willie Pokem-Young and I'm here to greet you.

martybishop.jpg

There must be a catch Methos there always is

sailor.jpg

No catch brothers I welcome you to the island, and, as honored guests you may kiss my ring!
martybishop.jpg

Told You!

Is there an alternative?

ad1.jpg

You could blow my horn!

After some kissing and blowing the bishop took them to meet his curate Father Upp, who in his spare time worked in a small bar as a singer.

What news of the source Father, the Bishop said you'd give us a clue!

Without a word The Father began a sad song of the source (to be read in a French Tragic Manner)

Just as the song reaches it's final verse Duncan looks out of the window and spys!

Methos you were right yet again, the planets are alighning!

planets.jpg

And I suppose you want me to say, go for it Macleod, we all know that you are the only one, well aren't you?

Well bugger off then like you always do whilst i stay behind and wrestle with some obnoxious evil bastard that's trying to take your head yet again?

car1.jpg

Awww Methos I've always told you I was the only one! Now what should I do?

ad1.jpg

Oh I'm off to Holby, but wait your secret is coming into view Macleod!

You may be the only one but I see you have to take stimulants! hahahahahaha so that's your secret! and now it's out for all the world to see. Damn it all the only stimulant I've ever needed was a sniff of a bar maids apron, well either that or some old witch! Go Go get your prize!

car9.jpg

And with that methos left leaving Duncan standing alone watching as His Source finally came into line with the planets.

His secret was out for the world to see!

car4.jpg

viagra.jpg

And so our story ends in a climactic finish with Methos and his stiff upper lip and Duncan with his stiff-------.

You may be wondering where an immortal goes when he's finished filming Highlander?

Well In Hungary there is a little known troup of strolling performers. Duncan has finally found his vocation in life!

You are something else, VG. just when I thought I was safe, you flash the (rather well endowed) blue undies.
Not that I'm complaining, just saying...

P.S. Loved the reading of The Sauce! Hysterical!

I thought the HAM! line was appropriate, but I'm finding that last bit to be beyond belief.
