Default The Pillars of The Earth

Just wondered if anyone is watching this premiere on TMN tonight. The 2nd episode is on as I write this. I forgota bout it and missed recording the first one. Looks very good and the guy who plays the lead, Rufus Sewell, reminds me ALOT of Adrian in some of the camera angles. Too bad AP couldn't have got the role. It's his sort of project I think. This guy has a beard in *Pillars* and looks very much like Adrian looked in The Lost Colony. (see pic) I'd love to watch this but it means comitting to 8 episodes and with all I'm trying to watch I don't know if I want to take it on. But it does look interesting. I didn't read the book but heard it is excellent. Maybe I will catch it some day.

Rufus recently played in "Eleventh Hour". This book and its sequel, "World Without End" are fabulous and well worth the read. I do wish I could see this miniseries, but I don't get that channel. I hope it comes out on DVD.

I'm sure it will come out on DVD eventually. I managed to PVR the first two episodes, found it playing on another channel to my surprise and got them both. Wow, haven't watched them yet but the little bit I saw is amazing! Full of passion and drama! I must read the books one day for sure.

Hi Tessa,

We're planning on watching it too. It looks very good in previews. We've just set the DVR to record series, but haven't actually started it yet. LOL We will. There's still August and part of Sept to get thru with reruns and no "new" shows yet. I love to watch a show with drama and real writing and acting, oh and actors! ( can you tell I'm no fan of reality shows with no true reality???? lol)

Hi RxLady! It looks very interesting and anything set in this time period always draws me in I LOVED the series Rome with Kevin McKidd! If you haven't seen that you really MUST watch that one because I think you'll be rivetted to it! The lead in Pillars is an excellent actor too and he is getting wonderful reviews for his performance. There are alot of very good actors in it and some I haven't heard of which might not mean they aren't well known!

We haven't started it yet, but it's still recording for us. LOL It has Matthew MacFayden in it, and I just LOVE to watch him. He's not AP for me....*G* .....but he is just a really wonderful actor and I enjoy watching him in whatever he does. I have always liked him since I discovered him in the first 2 seasons of MI-5. He did such a wonderful job of bringing so many different layers to his character and I just love to watch him, ever since. I really enjoyed him in the Pride and Prejudice remake. He was so good in that! Recently, Ray and I watched him in the Dicken's series "Little Dorrit" that we ordered from netflix. He was once again...really wonderful in it. LOL

oh yeah, we used to watch Eleventh Hour and enjoyed it, so of course it was cancelled. *BEG*
