Somehow I loved this series. It does look dated now but when I first watched it I loved AP from the start.

Same here Pepe, my copy is so bad that I don't think I've ever managed to watch all of it.
Adrian was hot as hell as Jon Kincaid and its a huge shame that they have only released the first season on "official DVD".I loved The Owl as well, shame that pilot wasn't successful enough for them to continue with a series. Mind you if it had been Adrian probably would never have been available to do Highlander..... Errr dare I say, that there are times when, I actually think that would have been a good thing for his future career! (ducking for cover here LOL) |

Jon Kincaid was GORGEOUS!!!
I liked The Owl. Similar look I guess as they were about the same time. The Owl coming after WotW but not long after. |

Don't have a clear copy of the Owl, but I just got a clear copy of War of the Worlds the second invasion--season 2! Tossed my old blurred copy and spend most of Wednesday watching the episodes. I really adore the John Kincaid characer--he makes me laugh when he's in that stripper bar all the time, trying to encourage the girls to keep dancing for him. And the most endearing part about his character is that he always tells everyone how he wants to be alone--how he cn fend for himself--it only me against the world, but he has a soft spot--and little Debbie seems to bring it out....

The Owl was a good stepping stone; I have not seen WOTW but i have heard it was a great. The owl in a way introduces us to HL if you think of it in its term.
From the overcoat hanging down to the arsenal to the comment that the only way to kill the Owl is to separate his head from his body. It almost looks like a Dennis Berry movie with the smoke and the alley shots. The kata also reminds me of HL what better way to focus all the negative energy. Well that is just my opinion |

I agree littleone, I always saw the foreshadowing of Duncan MacLeod in Adrian's performance as the Alex character in The Owl. I believe he did this just prior to being cast as Duncan too so he must have shown it to them when he auditioned and they must have seen how perfect he was for the role of MacLeod. Adrian told us the story of how when he walked into the audition for Highlander (I believe he was the first one they saw) he saw Bill Panzer and the lady from France whose name escapes me at the moment LOL, and he told them not to bother to audition any other actors because he was the right actor for the job and they needn't look any further. He said he usually isn't that arrogant and over confident but he felt it so strongly.

Tessa whether it was his arrogance or his confidence he was in form at the time. It seems that hollywood likes to cast an actor or actress based on their sex appeal. Bill and Peter Davis took a risk, when you condiser the act Adrian had to follow. CL is an accomplished actor and he is the orginal Highlander.
By the time the series idea came about it was time for new blood. It was also time to expand the character and what better way than an actor who had moves of his own. Adrian believed in his ability to deliver the product, we believe and still to this day see the result of that decsion. Although I have never seen the man in person, i have seen some DVD's where you see the actor relate to his character. He understood not only the relationship but the story that each episode played in the sage of the immortal. |

![]() ![]() Hey pepeperfume, Were did you get a clear copy of WOTW 2? I can't find one anywhere, I've looked all over on several web sites. Could you tell me so I could get one please? I have never seen the whole second season. I have looked at the first and second episodes with Adrian's character Jon Kincaid but it was so blurry I got a headache! Thank You, Kellie |
